Double explosion in Istanbul

In Istanbul, on Saturday 10 December 10.29 p.m, a car bomb hit a bus of the anti-riot forces next to the stadium of the Besiktas team. 45 seconds later, a second blast occurred in a park nearby. It was caused by a kamikaze who burst in a group of policemen.

The attack killed seven civilians, thirty police officers and hurt one hundred and fifty-five people. For this reason, Turkey declared one day of national mourning. The government said the terrorist attack was caused by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) although it had not yet been not claimed.

This double attack isn’t the first in 2016 : on February 17, the attack of a military convoy caused the death of 29 people. On March 13, in Ankara Kurdish activists slew 37 persons with a suicide car. On June 28, 41 people died in a gun and bomb attack against Ataturk airport. On July 30, Turkish soldiers shot 35 Kurdish fighters attacking a military base. Last of all, on August 20, 30 people died at a wedding party after a bomb attack in Gaziantep.

A Istanbul, samedi 10 décembre 2016 à 22h 29, un car des forces antiémeutes a été percuté par une voiture piégée à proximité du stade de Besiktas. 45 secondes plus tard, une deuxième déflagration s’est produite dans un parc proche. Elle a été provoquée par un kamikaze qui s’est fait exploser au milieu d’un groupe de policiers.

L’attentat a tué sept civils, trente policiers et a blessé cent cinquante -cinq personnes. Pour cette raison, la Turquie a décrété une journée de deuil. Le gouvernement turc affirme que l’acte terroriste est dû aux Parti des Travailleurs du Kurdistan (PKK) bien qu’il n’ait pas été revendiqué pour le moment.

Ce double attentat n’est pas le premier en 2016 : le 17 février, l’attaque d’un convoi militaire d’Ankara a provoqué la mort de 29 personnes. Le 13 mars, à Ankara des militants kurdes ont tué 37 personnes avec une voiture suicide. Le 28 juin, 41 personnes ont trouvé la mort dans une attaque à la bombe et aux armes à feu contre l’aéroport Atatürk. Le 30 juillet, les militaires turcs ont abattu 35 combattants kurdes prenant d’assaut une base de l’armée. Enfin, le 20 août, 30 personnes sont morts dans une fête de mariage avec un attentat à la bombe à Gaziantep.
